Regional Meet of Professional Circles

It was 19th of Feb, a visibly agitated Hemanth Kumar walked upto my seat. He was upset because three young engineers who had chosen to make a presentation on 3-Dimensional modelling were told that the topic was controversial. I discuss the issue with Mr. A.K. Bansal and told him that since Regional meet was scheduled for 26th Feb, it would not be easy to change the topic. It was suggested that the contents of presentation would cover problems faced in the past and also measures to overcome the limitations. Mr. Bansal agreed.

This was communicated to Harish and the other two members and I asked them to be the 'agents of change' I suggested them to make a rehearsal of the presentation the next day, i.e., 20th Feb. Dr. Naresh joined for the rehearsal and he made very valuable contributions in the presentation. He also suggested that this presentation should be made in professional forum of PE-Civil, Srijan on 24th Feb. Due to pre-occupation of all the senior people of the department Srijan meeting rescheduled and Srijan meeting could be held only on 25th Feb.
The presenters had put a lot of effort. Their hard work & suggestions during the rehearsal had raised the standard of the presentation by many notches. But when the discussion started, there was again a big if whether at all this topic should be presented at the regional meet or not? Our GM had the same doubt which was raised by Mr. Bansal.
After a long debate not only Mr. Shashi Ranjan agreed for the topic but actually critically examined each and every word of the presentation and made invaluable suggestions. But still the mood was that the topic & contents of the presentation was not a winning material.

The presenters were gloomy. At this Hemanth thanked Mr. Shashi Ranjan & the others present in the house and commented that script may be weak but the Cinematography also sometimes wins best pictures awards at the "Oscars". I told the gathering that the script too was not bad. This brought a smile on the faces of the presenters. With this every body dispersed having doubts when the trio would make the changes and when would thay get time to make one more rehearsal at it was already half an hour past seven in the evening. But some how I was confident and I told Mr. Ramkumar that the boys would be able to do that.
Against expectations our representatives emerged winners at the regional meet on 26th Feb and mood was upbeat as is evident in the picture below!

Congratulations to one and all!!!
